University of Roskilde: Greet Phoebe in the united kingdom, a passionate student who fell deeply in love with Denmark and made the decision to pursue a Master’s degree there. We sat down with Phoebe and requested her concerning the exciting journey which convinced her to choose the University of Roskilde, where she’s presently studying. Using the aim of helping others choose how to review abroad, Phoebe made a decision to share her story about how she grew to become a worldwide student.

What is your name? How old are you? Where are you from?

My name is Phoebe Rose Aust. I am 26 years old and I’m from the United Kingdom.

Where are you studying right now: university and country, academic level

I’m presently signed up for a Master’s of Spatial Designs and Society at the University of Roskilde, in Denmark.

How did you decide to study abroad?

Used to do an Erasmus year in Copenhagen within my undergraduate studies and fell deeply in love with Denmark. I discovered this master’s programme at Roskilde University, also near Copenhagen. It perfectly matched my interests, and so I enrolled.

How did you decide what academic subject you wanted to study?

Given my own curiosity about design and exactly how society functions, this program would be a perfect fit. Plus, I’d recently been residing in Copenhagen, also it grew to become home effortlessly.

How did you look for a university abroad? Why did you decide on this one?

I checked out various courses online to discover my options, however, I was mostly searching for any course in Europe in Urban Studies. My hopes would locate one option where I possibly could remain in Copenhagen.

What are three things you like most at your university?

I get along with my classmates, as well as with the lecturers, and I like all the facilities available to students by the university.

Describe the teaching style, classes, extra activities and facilities provided by your university.

For that Master’s of Spatial Designs and Society particularly, the teaching style is extremely close-knit, with small classes and group tasks. This means that you’re employed carefully with classmates and lecturers on projects that suit your own particular interests, yet stay at a higher academic level.

What do you like most about the city/country you’re studying in?

Everything. The folks, the elements (even if it’s cold) and also the political outlook. I really like that you could reside in central Copenhagen but still attend college in under 30 minutes.

What are your future plans after graduating?

I plan on remaining in Copenhagen and getting a job in the public sector, in order to apply for my studies.

Why would you recommend your university to other international students?

To begin with, since it is friendly. Next, the courses offer diversity and real-world application and contain advanced support because of their students.

What should future students know about the Spatial Designs and Society Master’s programme?

It’s a study programme that mixes social sciences like geography, sociology, and anthropology using the artistic aspects of design studies. The qualifications of the degree will let the graduate become a specialist in ethnographic fieldwork and act as an advisor for companies and also the local administration.

Students will become familiar with current design strategies, in addition to future design trends to be able to profit the stakeholders of local neighborhoods in applying their organizational planning and policies.
